There is nothing like buying a home, packing, and moving your family of four while trying to balance a birth photography business. Heck, why don’t we just add more to the mix and learn a new tool?! That is just what I did in June 2017 when I enrolled in Monet Moutrie‘s Birth Film Workshop with Everyday Film School.
My fascination with film began early, but it felt so foreign and overwhelming to me that I kept putting off any attempt at learning it. So when Monet advertised this workshop during this chaotic season of my life, I gave myself another excuse to put it off. But my extremely supportive husband convinced me to bite the bullet and sign up. I am SO glad that I did.
The course paced perfectly, providing just enough information per lesson to not feel overwhelming. I could work on the lessons on my own schedule, ask questions anytime, share with the community of other students, and refer back to the material at any time (and I still do!!).
When you are clear about your intentions and desires, everything else seems to fall into place beautifully. During the course of the workshop, I was waiting for my first home birth client to go into labor. She welcomed the idea of incorporating film into her birth story and invited me to capture her beautiful story. I still have a lot to learn, but I am excited to share my first birth film with you here.
Registration for the January 2018 workshop begins on November 5th, 2017. Click HERE to sign up for the course that will change your world.
