Honoring 2024 Birth Stories
Supporting Denver Families & Learning About Myself Along the Way
As I look back on 2024, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible families who trusted me to walk alongside them during one of the most transformative moments of their lives. This year has been filled with stories that will forever live in my heart, moments of resilience, love, and the kind of strength that leaves me in awe.
This year I attended 31 births, split almost evenly between home/birth center journeys and hospital births—16 out-of-hospital births and 15 in hospital.
I was honored to support 4 repeat clients, including one incredible 3-peat family that I traveled five hours to serve.
I welcomed 10 boys and 21 girls into the world, including my very first set of vaginal twins.
While the numbers tell part of the story, it’s the people behind them that mean the most. The trust these Denver families placed in me is humbling. Whether it was the quiet moments of reassurance, holding space for the unexpected, or capturing the raw, unfiltered beauty of their journey, these moments have left a deep mark on my heart. Supporting families as both a doula and birth photographer allows me to witness the sacred space of birth in a way that words often fail to describe. It’s an honor I never take lightly.

From the first conversation we felt so comfortable with her, and her extensive knowledge and kindness were such a benefit to us before, during, and after birth. She seamlessly switched from doula to photographer during the birth, showing up as a supportive guide throughout our birth. She was a true advocate for us leading up to birth when things got a little complicated, helping us to know the facts and weigh the options without telling us what we should do. I was a little nervous about having birth photos taken because it is such an intimate time, but HOLY COW the photos turned out amazingly, and I am so glad to have them to treasure and remember the moments. Each year, I learn something new about myself, about birth, and about the incredible resilience of families. For 2025, I’m leaning into connection—with my family, my community, and with myself. Birth work is more than just a job; it’s a calling that stretches into every part of my life. The work I do with Denver families reflects the same compassion, trust, and love I strive to cultivate at home with my own children. The quote, “When we give ourselves compassion, we are opening our hearts in a way that can transform our lives,” by Kristin Neff, has been a guiding light for me as I set my intentions for the year ahead.
Connection is what drives me to show up for every family I serve with my whole heart. It’s why I take the time to get to know each family’s hopes and dreams for their birth, to hold space for their fears and experience, and to offer the unwavering support they deserve. My goal for 2025 is to deepen those connections—to offer even more intentional care, to capture the beauty in every moment, and to continue advocating for empowering and positive birth experiences for Denver families.
To every family who invited me into their birth story this year: thank you. Your trust means everything. You’ve taught me, inspired me, and reminded me of the incredible power of love and resilience. Here’s to 2025—a year for more love, more connection, and more transformative moments. Denver families, I can’t wait to meet you.
